Philippians 2:25-30

In this section, we encounter another one of Paul’s messengers, Epaphroditus. You may recall an introduction to this man earlier in our study, but this is the first time he’s mentioned in this book. Here are a few questions to help you learn a little more about this associate of Paul’s.
  • What is Paul’s relationship to Epaphroditus?
  • What is Epaphroditus’ relationship to the Philippians?
  • According to this passage, Paul plans to send Epaphroditus back to the Philippians. Why was Epaphroditus sent to Paul in the first place? Why is Paul sending him back?
  • Why did Paul need to exhort the Philippians to welcome their dear friend back home?

Blessings!

Carmen says:

Epaphroditus is a servant of God that was sent to help Paul while he was in prison. He delivered money to Paul from the Philippians. According to the commentary in one of my bibles he was possibly an elder in Philippi. Paul is sending him back to Philippi letting the people know he has fully recovered from his illness...that God had mercy on Epaphroditus (since he nearly died) They will rejoice seeing him well again and welcoming him heartily home will make him feel all the more loved. He risked his life to help Paul in his ministry and Paul thinks he deserves a special welcome back.
