- According to 1:7 (and perhaps previous verses), why does Paul feel the way he does about the Philippians?
- What are “the blessings of God” that Paul refers to here? Some other translations use the phrase “partakers of grace.” What does that mean?
- What do we learn about Paul in these verses?
- What are your thoughts as to why Paul would go to such lengths (calling God to the witness stand - see NKJV) to make a seemingly simple statement in 1:8?

Well here is my oops, My comments to today actually posted to yesterday along with one that I forgot to sign! I guess it's getting close to my bedtime!
I'll take a stab at it.
"Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now"
is probably one of the reasons Paul feels the way he does about the Philippians.
"the blessings of God" could mean so many things, but I'm wondering if it means salvation in this case.
Why Paul goes to great lengths to say seemingly simple things is a mystery to me. I know other people who do the same thing. I don't know if it's an intential thing, or just his style.
Enlighten me.
